I began painting several years ago experimenting on my own, as well as, taking courses and workshops with wonderful artists in the Calgary area. Happily, I discovered a passion that melded my lifelong interest in people and their stories with the joy of creating. Grateful to have this rare opportunity in life to have the freedom to make something without any restrictions, I hope to create paintings that will speak to the viewer.

 When painting faces and figures, I try to capture the uniqueness and inner beauty of each person. The  process of learning to take a beautiful moment along with the story behind it and translate it onto paper or canvas captivates me and is the reason I’m inspired to paint. Working mostly with transparent watercolour on paper, I follow where the water and paint go and  love the unpredictability and serendipity of paint mixing on paper.
